In 1974, W.T. West, Sr. opened the greenhouse doors of West Nursery. A majority of his business generated from sales to retailers, but he also serviced the small gardeners. His biggest sellers included home grown azaleas, geraniums, and various bedding plants. In 1985 he handed over the business to his son W.T. West, Jr (Tommy) and daughter-in-law Aimee. By then he had added five more green houses and a lot more plants to the mix. Over the years West Nursery has grown into bigger buildings and more green houses. We even suffered a major loss in March 1997 from a fire that destroyed the retail building. We have rebuilt and come back strong! Today West Nursery and Garden Center still services the small gardener, but in a much bigger way. We offer bedding plants, trees and shrubs, water garden supplies, a giant corn maze every fall, and much more. |
